Ashby & Geddes has won one of the largest medical malpractice verdicts in Delaware history. On November 18, 2010, a unanimous jury in the Delaware Superior Court returned a $15 million verdict in favor of Ashby & Geddes’ client, who sustained a permanent injury to her spinal accessory nerve after a biopsy procedure. Ashby & Geddes has now moved for an additional award of $6.5 million in prejudgment interest, which is now pending before the Superior Court. Randall E. Robbins, who leads Ashby & Geddes’ Medical Negligence, Automobile Accident, and Product Liability groups was the sole trial lawyer on the case. The seven-day trial featured state-of-the-art technology in both demonstrative evidence and closing arguments. Other Ashby & Geddes litigators are assisting Randall in dealing with the defendants’ post-trial motions.
